Quays of the Port of Klaipeda were put into operation

Quays No. 7 and No. 8 of the Port of Klaipeda were put into operation. Reconstruction of the quays, which was initiated by “Latvijas tilti” JSC of the LNK Group holding in November 2012, is one of the stages of the overall modernisation plan of the Port of Klaipeda. “Latvijas tilti” JSC performed the construction of the new wharf face, or quay walls, and the reconstruction of the quay superstructure.

About the Port of Klaipeda terminal

Construction of the multifunctional Klaipeda terminal, the most modern Passenger and Cargo terminal in the Baltic states, was performed by LNK Industries JSC, with the end result being an over 700-meter long quay. LNK Industries Group holding enterprise TTS, in turn, produced the automated Ro-Ro ramps, each weighing over 500 tons. Total area of the terminal is more than 25 thousand m2.

The terminal was officially unveiled in June of this year in the presence of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania, Klaipeda State Sea Port Administration management, as well as management of LNK Group, LNK Industries JSC and Latvijas tilti JSC. Central Klaipeda terminal will be able to simultaneously operate with ships of three different types, i.e., ro-ro, ro-pax and cruise ships.
