The Aloja Business Centre, constructed by LNK Industries, has been recognised as the most energy efficient building constructed in Latvia in 2011
The jury praised this A-class office centre as the most sustainable building in Latvia.
According to the result of the competition ‘The most energy efficient building in Latvia in 2011’ both prizes were awarded to the Aloja Business Centre built within the real property development programme of the LNK Group subsidiary company LNK Properties (former name – iQ Projects).
The office centre, in whose construction the LNK Group invested approximately € 20 million, was recognised as the best in the nomination ‘The most energy efficient public building’.
“When after two years of construction Aloja Business Centre was put into operation in 2009, the Latvian market had no office centres at such a level in terms of technical equipment and innovative solutions. Nordea Bank located its central office in the Aloja Business Centre and we are grateful to them because right from the outset they insisted upon the highest requirements regarding all aspects of the building. The award for energy efficiency results from evaluation of the work of our production and construction subdivision LNK Industries that worked with the architect firm Sarma & Norde - especially with Visvaldis Sarma - and is well earned. ”, emphasized Artjoms Milovs, Chairman of the Board of LNK Group.
LNK Group Management believes that over the course of time other buildings that are being built within the LNK Properties real property development programme will also be able to earn various awards from professional organisations.
During the period from 2002 to July 2012 six residential buildings and seven commercial projects (office and trade centres, a logistics park) have been built utilising the LNK Properties methods. Currently there are more than 10 further projects in the LNK Properties portfolio that are ready for similar implementation.

About Aloja Business Centre
The Aloja Business Centre is a 10,000 square metre office building located in Riga at the junction of Alojas and K. Valdemāra streets. It has a further 5,000 sq.m of underground parking for 180 cars on 3 levels and is the only car park of its kind in Latvia.
Aloja Business Centre has unique energy efficient attributes that are evidenced by an appropriate State-issued certificate. This efficiency results in tenants being able significantly to reduce their utility costs. An effective, but rare technical solution for Latvia, is the double floor system, which has been employed throughout the Aloja Business Centre.
Communications and air preparation systems are located under the floor, so it is possible to regulate the required climate within the limits of each workplace as well as change the office layout very flexibly.
All office centre function provision systems are monitored by smart software (the so-called Building Management System). Thus, for example, it is able to maintain an optimum temperature and lighting regime within the premises by automatically adjusting the position of sun protection blinds, etc.
