3rd round of construction of Riga Fertilizer Terminal is completed

JSC “LNK Industries” has completed construction works of dome-shaped depositories No. 7 and No. 8 with overground and underground conveyor galleries of the fertilizer temporary storage and transhipment complex at the Freeport of Riga.

During the 3rd round construction works, two new dome-shaped depositories No. 7 and No. 8 were constructed with capacity of each depository being 25,000 t. Also two reinforced concrete and two metal cargo transshipment units, two overground and two underground conveyor galleries and an inter-dome shelter were built, and also the adjacent territory with area 7,888 m2 was improved.

“Riga Fertilizer Terminal” (RFT) is the most modern and safest fertilizer transshipment and temporary storage terminal in the Northern Europe. The terminal uses in its functioning efficient and contemporary cargo transshipment and storage methods, which are safe for the surrounding environment.

JSC “LNK Industries” completed the 1st and 2nd round of construction of RFT in 2013. The terminal is built using most contemporary and ecologically purest technologies and materials, and it corresponds to the strictest safety and surrounding environment impact requirements of the European Union. All cargo handling operations at “Riga Fertilizer Terminal” are carried out within a system, which is completely separated from the surrounding environment.
