A Public Skating Rink Will be Opened at the Sports and Active Leisure Square of the Riga Secondary School No. 84 in Riga with the Participation of Representatives of LNK Industries

On Saturday, the 28th of January, at the sports and active leisure square of the Riga Secondary School No. 84 (141 Lielvardes Street, Riga), the construction works of which were performed by the LNK INDUSTRIES Partnership General Partnership, a skating rink opening celebration will take place.

Representatives of both LNK Industries JSC and Riga City Council, and Riga Secondary School No. 84 will participate in the opening of the public skating rink. The first hockey match between the students of the Riga hockey school will take place within the framework of celebration events, where the hockey legend Helmuts Balderis will make the ceremonial puck throw-in. There will be an opportunity to both see the hockey game exhibition and to try out the ice of the new public skating rink together with fairy-tale characters. There also will be contests with various surprise prizes and creative activities for children. The event will be hosted by Armands Simons, who will also comment the hockey game.

LNK INDUSTRIES Partnership GP has begun the large-scale construction works in this territory, which later on will be rightly called the first and largest active leisure and sports activities place in Riga, in May last year on commission of the Property Department of the Riga City Council. The total area of improvement works performed by the LNK INDUSTRIES Partnership GP was 56,000 m2. Squares for skateboarding, basketball, football, volleyball and tennis were constructed and equipped, as well as playgrounds for children of different ages and a square for street gymnastics. Now there also will be a skating rink opened in the territory, and it will be possible to use it for skating in summer. The territory is fenced and has paved squares, as well as paths for both pedestrians and skaters.
